eTextile Swatchbook Exchanges

Swatches are the physical embodiment of a skill, technique, or concept to share with other practitioners. They are a critical tool and methodology in eTextiles as our emerging discipline depends on shared knowledge: there is no centralized, historical precedent for crafting electronics out of fabric. In this way, the swatch is our pedagogical manifesto.

These swatches were developed as part of the eTextile Swatch Exchange begun by Hannah Perner-Wilson in 2013. This collaborative project attempts to fold our practice into a contextual framework for teaching others in the manner we learnt it.
